Ballast Resistor 2 Terminal Correct Bracket 62-72 All
This is a new old stock, 1956-1972 Chrysler ballast resistor. The ignitions system is designed to operate on less than full battery voltage when the engine is running. To do this, the ballast resistor is installed between the starter switch and coil and reduces the voltage by 3 volts. Since full battery voltage is required for starting, the resistor is bypassed when the engine is being started. If your car starts, but the engine stops as soon as the ignition switch moves from the start to the on, or run position, the ballast resistor is most likely the problem. On many Mopar cars and trucks, the ballast resistor is located on the firewall. I have sold hundreds of these on Ebay, and have excellent feedback. Please be sure this is correct for your application. Part # 2095501
